A new award is being launched to recognise people who have made a special contribution to the Jurassic Coast.
The Jurassic Coast Award is for anyone who has shown an outstanding dedication to the conservation and enhancement of the Dorset and East Devon Coast World Heritage Site, whether professional, amateur or volunteer.
Awards will be presented to two individuals who have made innovative and meaningful contributions through education, science, conservation or the arts. This could be through research, community involvement or other activities.
This year, the two individually sculptured awards will be created by the artist and sculptor Gary Breeze, with sponsorship from the Fine Family Foundation.

Nomination forms should be submitted, together with any supporting information, to arrive no later than Friday 29 October 2010. The inaugural Jurassic Coast Awards will be presented at the annual Jurassic Coast Seminar on Thursday 16 December 2010 at Bridport Arts Centre.
